Car Park/ Pick up and set down zone
To ensure the safety of all our students at pick up time students are asked to wait behind the painted yellow line at the front of the school for parents to arrive to pick them up. The pickup and
set down zone at the school is designed to increase traffic flow and reduce congestion, by allowing parents to quickly drop off or collect children. To ensure the area works as efficiently as possible, please remember these useful tips:
- drive very slowly through the car park (max 10km/h)
- never park in the pick-up and set down zone
- children always depart and enter the vehicle directly onto the footpath, not the road
- children have their bags readily available so they can quickly depart/enter the car
be patient and courteous when driving near the school
The pickup and set down zone is a ‘No Parking” zone. Stopping in a ‘No Parking’ zone is only permitted for picking up or dropping off passengers and/or goods. A motorist must not leave a vehicle unattended in a ‘No Parking’ zone and can remain there for a maximum of two minutes (unless otherwise indicated). Leaving a vehicle unattended means being three metres or more away from it.
Remember road safety is a shared responsibility around the school, please follow the rules so everyone remains safe.
Open and effective two-way communication is of paramount importance at Bonython Primary School. Please make sure your family and friends know about our Facebook page and Seesaw. These forms of communication provide instant updates and regular information for our families https://www.facebook.com/BonythonPS. All notes sent home and Bulletins can be found on our web page: http://www.bonythonps.act.edu.au/. We also have a fortnightly Bulletin which is emailed to families every even week of the school term.
Your child’s classroom teacher is your first point of call if you have wonderings or concerns about your child’s learning. Please contact your child’s teacher to make a time that is mutually convenient for you both.
It is important that we have up to date contact details for parents and carers in case of an emergency. If you have changed your phone number or address please advise the front office as soon as possible. If you have changed your address, the ACT Education Directorate require us to obtain proof of your new address being a copy of electricity/gas bill or rental agreement.
