If a child becomes ill at school, or is injured, an effort will be made to contact parents immediately. If parents cannot be reached the child’s emergency contact will be phoned. If this is also unsuccessful, the school will then obtain medical assistance if this is deemed necessary.
Our school follows the ACT Education Directorate enrolment policy. Children must be five years of age on or before 30 April the year they enter kindergarten. For further information on how to enrol your child go to: http://www.education.act.gov.au/school_education/enrolling_in_an_act_public_school
To ensure access and equity in the provision of education, like all government schools Bonython has established an Equity Fund to support the needs of students who might not otherwise be in a position to take advantage of the opportunities provided by their school.
Teachers may organise excursions during the year for particular age groups. These excursions form an integral part of the learning program. On occasions, again to complement our teaching program, we will arrange for visiting speakers or groups to perform at the school. Details of times etc. and a permission note will be sent home to parents for all excursions /performances. Payment for excursions, performances and camps etc. should be placed securely in an envelope and clearly labelled and given to the front office or teacher first thing in the morning.
